Speech Power! Posted on 04/08/200808/08/2008 By Reedz This comment in the chatbox made my day: HDM: Dear AB, just to let u know that ur website has helped me in numerous occasions, eg. tel nos, reviews, and for that i would like to say A VERY BIG THANK YOU! u r a lifesaver (or make- life- simpler) Thank you very much indeed HDM for those kind words. Its heartening to note that this site is of some help to its regular readers. Its these sort of comments that motivate me to do what I do 😀 Public speaking is something that many people have a distinct fear of. The anxiety people feel when faced with the task of speaking in front of a group of strangers can be debilitating. I was very fortunate in this sense because I was exposed to public speaking from very early on in life. In school, I was often picked to represent the school in various oratory or debating competitions. This early start has helped immensely in overcoming any fear I have of speaking in public. Its great to see that schools these days are putting a lot of emphasis on public speaking and critical thinking. Yesterday, SMS school held an event called Speech Power, which involved public performances by the students in the primary section. Nina the Bartina was selected to participate in the performances for English, Chinese, AND Malay! It was awesome to see her in action up on stage without the slightest hint of stage fright. Definitely a good start! Funny story: When we were having breakfast before going to the school, Da Missus asked Nina if she had butterflies in her tummy. Her response, “Nada eh. Tapi sakit parut!” *toink* Share this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window) Related
