Our trip to Vietnam – Part Four (My Tho)

Posted on 21/12/200710/02/2023 By Reedz

Another early morning, we got on the bus and drove along Mekong River to My Tho, 80km Southwest pf Ho Chi Minh City, a quiet town in the Mekong Delta that offers riverside views, rice paddies and evergreen fruit orchards.

Upon the arrival at pier, a board local motorized the boat on the Mekong River to visit the coconut candy factory, a famous local specialty.

After that, we took a short horse ride to a local residence to visit their bee farm and sample local honey-tea. We also visited the local residence with their orchard, to enjoy the traditional music.

Then, we walked through a fruit orchard to see and taste different kinds of fruit. After lunch, we visited the Bonsai Garden and a handicraft workshop. We went back to the hotel and had dinner.

On the last day, we had to wake up early for an early flight back to Brunei Darussalam.

Chop Jing Chew est. 1946

Posted on 06/04/200709/08/2020

Chop Jing Chew is an institution among Bruneians particularly those raised in or living in the Brunei/Muara district. It kinda reminds me of the tv-series Cheers except it isn’t a pub. But the atmosphere’s the same… You see familiar faces every week… The waiters however busy, will always find time…
