Deepavali Nal Valtukal – PWM Deepavali Night 2011 Posted on 17/11/2011 By Reedz Excerpt from the organizing committee chairman, Raja Segaran Suppiah: This celebration is another effort of PWM to bring all community in Brunei to come together and to have better understanding of another culture. Deepavali has become an occasion for social togetherness, both within the Malaysian community, Bruneians and friends of all races in Brunei. This evening’s occasion is indeed a special way in which we come together as a multi-ethnic community to celebrate this festival of lights and to honour all Indians who celebrate Deepavali in a truly 1Malaysia concept. Deepavali falls on the one new moon night between mid-October and mid-November. Deepavali is celebrated for five days according to the lunisolar Calendar, however these days we only celebrate or one or two days.
