8th Abacus Travel Fair Kicks Off!

Abacus Distribution Systems (Brunei) Sdn Bhd launched its eighth Holiday and Travel Fair yesterday at the Atrium, Airport Mall, Berakas.

The 8th annual Abacus Holiday Travel Fair was officially opened by Mr Dermot Mannion, Deputy Chairman and Acting Chief Executive Office Royal Brunei Airlines and Chairman of Abacus Brunei.

The two-day fair, organised by Abacus Brunei, will provide Abacus travel partners including airlines, National Tourist Offices, hotels and travel agents a unique platform to promote and showcase their products and services. The fair aims to stimulate demand at both ends of the spectrum, providing travellers with the convenience of shopping for a wide range of great travel deals under a single roof.

Abd Halim Hall Abd Rahman, Sales & Marketing Manager, Abacus Brunei explained “There will be eight Abacus Brunei based travel agents participating in this travel fair connected to more than 30 Abacus terminals. This will help travel agents to efficiently service keen travellers.”

The travel fair will see also see local attractions showcased by Brunei Tourism. “This travel fair provides an excellent opportunity for Brunei-based travellers to shop for both overseas and local packages making it an event on the travel calendar not to be missed,” Halim continued.

Meanwhile Tourism Malaysia is bringing 10 exhibitors under Tourism Malaysia pavilion. This is the biggest participation from Tourism Malaysia.

Kuala Lumpur based Taiwan Visitors Association as well as Japan Embassy are participating for the first time in this travel fair. Insuran Islam TAIB is another new exhibitor in this travel fair.

On top of the fantastic travel deals available at the fair, many opportunities will also be presented to win attractive prizes such as 100,000 Royal Skies Miles, 32″ LED TV, Apple iPad and DSLR Camera. 3 days 2 nights’ package to Kuala Lumpur including return Economy air ticket, 2-night accommodation and airport return transfers.

Entertainment will also be provided throughout the fair with activities such as quizzes, games and a colouring contest designed to entertain visitors and their families of all ages.
