The Guest of Honour was His Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah. CIPTA is a biennial competition for Creative, Innovative Product and Technological Advancement. It is organized by Institut Teknologi Brunei in partnership with Brunei LNG and co-sponsored by Standard Chartered Bank. The competition is graced with the patronage of His Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah. The main aim of the competition is to encourage innovation and creativity for national development in Brunei Darussalam. The CIPTA competition has received a large number participation from individuals and teams over the years. In conjunction with the event, a showcase of the participating entries from the Crown Prince CIPTA 2009 Award will also be held. The showcase will be held for two days at the Indera Pura Lounge, Level 4 in the Empire Hotel & Country Club starting from 12noon to 4:30pm on Saturday, 14th March 2009 and from 9:30am to 4:30pm on Sunday, 15th March 2009.
