After the 4th July reception, I managed to rush to the JP Amphitheatre just in time for the prize-giving ceremony and final performance by all the contestants! Phew! Talk about Just In Time!

Familiar face!

Hjh Maskiah, the top performer in the Bruneian category, said that she hoped to contribute something to the local music industry. She belted out a song entitled “Last Dance”.

Tarusha Naidoo from South Africa, the winner of the non-Bruneian category who sang “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” in the final round, meanwhile said that she aspires to be a professional singer.

Chop Jing Chew is an institution among Bruneians particularly those raised in or living in the Brunei/Muara district. It kinda reminds me of the tv-series Cheers except it isn’t a pub.
