The old Marina theatre in Seria…

Posted on 03/05/200604/09/2026 By Reedz

I wonder who owns it… I’d turn it into a ten-pin bowling center if I were them… Who knows we may see a champion kegler from seria rise to the top!

From the archive, 2026

The Marina Theatre was one of those Seria landmarks that almost everyone knew.

I remember watching movies there, especially when I went with Grandma. The films have mostly faded from memory, but the experience of going to the cinema with her has stayed with me.

By the time I photographed the building in 2006, its walls were weathered and its frontage had faded. I joked then that I would turn it into a ten-pin bowling centre.

Marina did eventually find another life. Today, the old cinema is an electrical appliance showroom. The building remains, but its purpose has changed completely.

That is what happens to many of the places from our childhood. They survive, but not quite as we remember them.
