Tonight’s views were again unique, this time from the hotel musholla. The Kaabah was partially obstructed by construction, but the feeling of connection remained. The illuminated arches, the hum of pilgrims, and the stillness of the musholla offered a different kind of peace. Even without a perfect view, the essence was unchanged. Alhamdulillah. Another unique experience—this time from the rooftop of Masjid Al-Haram. One thing I’ve noticed is how the routes into the masjid seem to change by the hour or the day. What feels like a familiar path at one moment becomes entirely different the next. It’s almost as if every solat comes with its own journey, forcing you to adapt and embrace the unexpected. After the intense tawaf and sa’i rituals last night, today I performed my first solat fardhu at Masjid Al-Haram, and immediately noticed the totally different vibe. Compared to the structured calm of Masjid Nabawi, Masjid Al-Haram is raw, intense, and alive. The energy here is almost overwhelming, with the constant flow of people, the buzz of activity, and the sheer presence of the Kaabah at its centre. Alhamdulillah, last night we completed our Umrah. Seeing the Kaabah was overwhelming, but it was the tawaf that struck me deeply—a true reflection of mankind. A sea of humanity moving in the same direction, yet somehow clashing with pushing, shoving, and even screaming. And yet, through the chaos, we all moved forward, united in purpose. It was a powerful reminder of life itself—imperfect, messy, but always striving toward Allah. May He accept this effort and guide us always. Arriving in Makkah after the serene tranquillity of Madinah felt like stepping into a different rhythm—one alive with movement and anticipation. The bus ride from the train station to the Pullman was a journey of contrasts. The city, bathed in soft evening lights, seemed to hum with energy, as if every corner carried whispers of countless pilgrims’ prayers. This Deepavali, as people around the world light diyas to mark the victory of light over darkness, may it serve as a gentle reminder of resilience in these testing times. The glow of each flame reflects the strength of human spirit, illuminating a path through today’s uncertainties and hardships.
