Telekom Brunei Berhad (TelBru) lent a helping hand to the Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam though a cleaning campaign held at its branch in Kampong Bengkurong today.

A team of around 50 TelBru volunteers under the ’Let’s Give Back’ initiative set about first thing in the morning to clean the classrooms and surroundings of the building. The volunteers from TelBru also helped to re-paint the classrooms, clean the fish pond and aquarium, clean the toilets, do plumbing works, change their light bulbs and also do gardening works.

The one-day campaign started off with the handover of ‘Let’s Give Back’ certificate from Muhammad Reeda Haji Malik, the General Manager of TelBru Media and Communications, to Pg Datin Hjh Noraini PDNLDR Pg Hj Abd Momin, the Executive Trustee of Pusat Ehsan.

“TelBru has always been supportive of Pusat Ehsan in terms of donation and sponsorships, but this is the first time for TelBru to help us with a cleaning campaign and this shows that TelBru is willing to help not just through cash donations but also contribution of their energy”, said by Haji Abd Hamid Maaruf, Pusat Ehsan’s Head of Administration.

He also added that last year in May, TelBru was one of the financial support companies whom donated an amount of money to help build a classroom for Pusat Ehsan. Apart from that, he also mentioned that TelBru is also sponsoring Pusat Ehsan’s internet connection for their everyday and academic use.

Lim Ming Soon, the General Manager of Product Development, Marketing and Sales said that the cleaning campaign was meant to help the staff and students of Pusat Ehsan to be able to carry out their activities in a more comfortable environment.

“Together with the help of GHK Motor Sdn Bhd as our strategic partner, we believe we can contribute more to our society through this ‘Let’s Give Back’ corporate social responsibility program as there are many more charities and organizations in the country that still need the public and our support”, he added.

The campaign is part of “Let’s Give Back”, a Corporate Social Responsibility effort by TelBru to help charities and other organizations dedicated to providing support to the disabled, poor and needy through donations and community service works. Under “Let’s Give Back”, TelBru has pledged to help 11 charities across the country this year.
