Posted on 08/10/2010 By Reedz Radisson Hotel Brunei Darussalam, held its grand opening on Wednesday evening in collaboration with the Board of Hotel Associates Sdn Bhd and Carlson Hotels Asia Pacific. YB Guest of Honour accompanied by hotel management & board members Present to officiate the opening was Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Utama Dato Seri Setia Awg Haji Yahya Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Haji Bakar, the Minister of Industry and Primary Resources. Among the guests were Dato Timothy Ong, Chairman of the Board for Hotel Associates, Jean March Busato, Managing Director of Carlson Hotels Asia Pacific, foreign diplomats, government officers as well as representatives from the private sector and the travel industry. Meanwhile, in his speech, the Minister of Industry and Primary Resources urged local accommodation providers to be observant of the global trends in tourism activities to enable them to attract more tourists to the country. The minister added that hotel operators will upgrade their services and workforce that can provide their guests with positive memories during their stay in the hope it will result in greater numbers of repeat visitors. In a brief video presentation, Peter Feran, General Manager of the hotel, said that the changes soon to be made at the hotel will include the upgrade of the guest rooms and suites, public areas, complimentary high speed Internet, safety and security facilities, business centre and fitness facilities. With the philosophy, "Yes I can!"
