A Day in London with Damissus

Damissus is currently visiting and as a run up to our little honeymoon getaway in Paris next week, we decided to do the London tourist thing and hop on the Original London Tour.

Living in Leicester, London is only a train ride away, which is exactly why it is so easy to never do the tourist thing. Damissus visiting gave me the excuse, so we took the train down and did it properly, open top bus and all.

Tower Bridge

Lunch at Jom Makan

A Malaysian restaurant, which for a student a long way from home is about as close as London gets to a familiar plate of food. Somewhere between Tower Bridge and the next stop, we did what any sensible Bruneian does on a long day out and planned the day around lunch.

Brake Pad

Then came Madame Tussauds. Brake Pad was there, looking far calmer than I would be if I were standing in front of that many tourists.

I leaned in and whispered into Einstein’s wax ear that E is not equal to MC squared. He took it well. He had little choice.

London Eye

By the time the Eye took us up and let us look back over the city, the day had stretched out long and full. Paris next week is the real honeymoon. London was the warm up, and a very good one.
