ICT WITH A SMILE LOGO RGB

AITI together with the other TELCOs (TelBru, DST & B-mobile) are running a “Smiles’ campaign in conjunction with World Telecommunication & Information Society Day (WTISD) on 17th May 2008.

The campaign aims to raise awareness on WTISD and create a higher sense of appreciation towards ICT and at the same time focusing on this year’s WTISD theme: “Connecting People With Special Needs: ICT Opportunities For All”. The theme was released earlier this month by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

About the campaign: Everyone residing in Brunei is invited to send in their digital pictures and upload them to the site. Closing date for submission will be on 14th April 2008 (still got more than two weeks to go!! Apa lagi tunggu??). These photos will then be screened and compiled into a collage of smiles. The more photos the merrier.

The end products are special calendars (that runs from May 2008 to May 2009) and posters, which displays a collage of smiling faces. Terms and Conditions can be found at the official website.

These calendars and posters will be officially launched and distributed on 17th May 2008 and that will kick start a series of activities all year round to commemorate the WTISD.

Thank you all for such an over-whelming response to the calendar project. Thanks to fellow bloggers Jewelle, Kantalensa, amieheidi, roses, Nonnie, Zadm, Bahapakitani, and R&al who mentioned it in their blogs. Hopefully more will do the same for this worthwhile cause. I am aiming to sell 1,000 pieces of this…
