Ahhh the 70’s

This pic was taken circa 1975.
We had just moved into the house on lorong 3 near the beach.
Super retro man!

From the archive, 2026

This family photograph was taken around 1975 during my sister’s birthday. We had recently moved to our house at Lorong 3, near the beach in Seria. I would have been about five years old.

Everything in the photograph belongs unmistakably to the 1970s. The clothes, the furniture, the hairstyles and the birthday cakes on the table. Super retro, as I wrote when I first posted it in 2006.

Looking at it now, however, I notice the people more than the fashion. It captures my family together in our new home, celebrating an ordinary birthday without knowing that the moment would still be here half a century later.

A photograph sometimes remembers what we have forgotten.
