AB goes walkabout wit da missus – Paris Posted on 24/07/201025/07/2010 By Reedz Ahhh, Paris in the summertime… so darned hot and humid, dog-poo stains on the pavements, everything so gulpingly costly… its not quite my idea of the city of love… And yet, we were inevitably swept away by the city’s historical architecture, its renowned landmarks, and the whole bourgeois lifestyle apparent everywhere we looked. We were hosted by friends who lived uptown on Victor Hugo Avenue, which incidentally, was where da sista and her family lived for sometime when they were here… Just minutes from the apartment, the Arc de Triomphe, a monument in Paris that stands in the centre of the Place Charles de Gaulle, at the western end of the Champs-Élysées. Hotel Ritz at Place Vendôme. The rooms start at €770 a night. Suites start at €1,600 and can go up to €13,650 a night for the most prestigious ones (Suite Impériale). Hmmm… slightly beyond my paygrade… Incidentally, this was the last place Princess Diana stayed before she perished in the car crash. The Louis Vuitton building, which was opened in 1913, and was the largest travel-goods store in the world at the time.
