Cicakman sequel on the way Posted on 26/11/200826/11/2008 By Reedz But first, some mid-week humour! Tks Rags for sending me this! It made my morning! Tony the farmer was in the fertilised egg business. He had several hundred young laying hens (pullets) and eight or ten roosters, whose job was to fertilise the eggs. Tony kept records and any rooster that didn’t perform went into the soup pot and was replaced. That took an awful lot of his time so he bought a set of tiny bells and attached them to his roosters. Each bell had a different tone so Tony could tell from a distance, which rooster was performing. Now he could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report simply by listening to the bells. Farmer Tony’s favourite rooster was old Gordon, and a very fine specimen he was too. But on this particular morning Tony noticed old Gordon’s bell hadn’t rung at all! Tony went to investigate. All the other roosters were chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing. The pullets, hearing the roosters coming, would run for cover. But to farmer Tony’s amazement, Gordon had his bell in his beak, so it couldn’t ring. He’d sneak up on a pullet, do the business and walk on to the next one. Tony was so proud of Gordon, he entered him in the West Berks County Fair and Gordon became an overnight sensation among the judges. The result was the judges not only awarded Gordon the No Bell Peace Prize but they also awarded him the Pulletsurprise as well. Clearly Gordon was a politician in the making: Who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most highly coveted awards on our planet by being the best at sneaking up on the populace and screwing them when they weren’t paying attention. Do you know a Politician called Gordon? 🙂 With all the overwhelming responses from the local and international public based on “Cicakman” 2006, which had attracted international distributors through the screening at Bangkok Film Festival (held on 20 February – 23 February 2006) and Hong Kong International Film & TV Market (20 March – 23 March 2006), KRU STUDIOS decided to produce “Cicakman 2 – Planet Hitam” this year. Who wud’ve known the humble cicak could spawn a superhero… The sequel demonstrates the enhanced used of CGI (Computer Generated Imagery), not to mention more avid actions scenes. The star studded line-up featuring Saiful Apek as Cicakman/Hairi, Aznil Hj Nawawi as Professor Klon, Sharifah Armani as Iman, Fasha Sandha as Tania, AC Mizal & Adlin Aman Ramli as Ginger Ghosts, Louisa Chong as Miss Cheef and Indonesian star Tamara Blaszensky as Rrama, promises a hit at the Box Office. Aznil as Professor Klon.. hahaha! Some pretty cool action scenes Yusry Halim, the director of “Cicakman 2 – Planet Hitam” is an expert directing advertisement and music video, especially videos related to 3D animations and special effects. Combining his acting experiences with his creative talents on CGI, therefore, he had produced the movie – “Cicakman 2 – Planet Hitam”. Other than shooting the movie in studio, the production was done in various locations such as Telekom Museum (Kuala Lumpur), Gua Tempurung (Perak), Empangan SPLASH (Kuala Kubu), Bangunan Majlis Perbandaran Pulau Pinang (Pulau Pinang) and etc. The crew hard at work at one of the shooting locations “Cicakman 2 – Planet Hitam” is about the evil Professor Klon is back… This time, not only to overthrow the Government and become the President of Metrofulus, but also to control the world’s supply of fresh water through his ingenious plan, “Black Water”. When our blue planet has only 72 hours before turning black, Cicakman comes to the rescue. But much to his surprise he faces his old enemies, Ginger Boys, who return even more powerful in a spiritual form… as Ginger Ghosts. In addition he is now faced with Professor Klon’s hired assassin, Rrama… an assassin who derives pleasure in killing as if it were a pure art form. As the situation starts taking a downward spiral, even a super hero needs help. And much to his surprise, help appears in the most unexpected forms, including Danny his demised best friend, a powerful feng shui master and an unlikely party. Apart from his heavy responsibilities to save the world, he also has his own personal dilemmas to address… that is Hairi vs. Cicakman. He has to resolve his personal feelings towards Tania, who is seeking the true identity of Cicakman… and he also has to choose whether to sacrifice his own life to save Iman (Danny’s blind sister). What will happen to our super hero Cicakman? We shall find out at Empire cinema this coming 11th December 2008. See you then!
