Sunday morning Qigong @ Tasek Lama

Posted on 19/11/200808/05/2019 By Reedz

fullybooked

It seems all the 100 seats for the BlogItUp@UBD session on Saturday where da gangsta, Mr Kurapak, and myself are scheduled to speak, have been taken! I hope the organizers will be able to organize a bigger venue so that we can accomodate a larger crowd. The more the merrier!

Qigong (or ch’i kung) refers to a wide variety of traditional cultivation practices that involve methods of accumulating, circulating, and working with Qi or energy within the body. The qi in qigong means breath or air in Chinese, and, by extension, life force, dynamic energy or even cosmic breath. Gong means work applied to a discipline or the resultant level of skill, so qigong is thus breath work or energy work.

If you go to tasek lama on Fridays or Sundays, you may have noticed a group of people practising this ancient technique, led by a strapping chap by the name of Benson.

I felt really energized after the work out. Worth going for those who have not tried it. The shouting part is interesting. We may think it is just a normal shouting experience. Actually it is more than that. It is a way to release tension or the ‘pressure cooker’ in us. Initially, my shouting was like a cough… cos too much ‘impurities’. hahaaaa. But towards the end of the work out, I felt light as a feather and ready to tackle the world!!!
Last Sunday was my first experience and for new comers, you do not need to be fit to try it. Just bring along a smiling face and friends and do join the happy people in the group! Be there a few minutes before 7.00 am.
yes! Benson is awesome and makes u feel at home!

Absolutely agree with you SP! The qigong sessions have been definitely been beneficial for me esp in the stress relief department! For those who want to try it out, do come to Tasek Lama on Fridays and Sundays before 7am! See you there!
