Continuation from yesterday’s post on my Berlin walkabout: Sanssouci Palace near Potsdam was the favorite retreat of King Friedrich II – later known as Friedrich the Great. View of Sanssouci Palace from the courtyard The infamous Checkpoint Charlie, the crossing point between East Berlin and West Berlin during the Cold War. AB at Checkpoint Charlie The Glienicke bridge (Glienicker Brücke) better known as the Spy bridge where Russian and American agents used to cross during the coldwar The Sony Centre on Berlin’s historic Potsdamer Platz. Fantastic architecture! Vixennova: Happy B’day Arief…. love, from lil Muz’im & family Arief says thank you very much! He had a wonderful party with his cousins this evening and got 3 RC Cars and a Hotwheelz Track! I think he’ll be dreaming cars tonight! Heheh!
yasmeen’s mum: Ya its a beautiful palace! I was fascinated by the so-called “oriental” statues which were made by people who had never been to the orient and so used their imagination to conjure up all sorts of costumes for their statues! Checkpoint Charlie was a bit of a disappointment cos the little museum was closed when we were there 🙁 By funky you mean? 😛
