The Great Equalizers

Posted on 01/08/200710/02/2023 By Reedz
Youtube, Facebox, Multiply, Google Video, MSN Spaces, Pure Volume etc. These are the equalizers of which the web provides for musicians, singers, directors, producers especially those from countries where the entertainment industry is still in its infancy, like Brunei for instance.

Where previously it was a gargantuan task getting oneself known regionally and globally, today, it only takes a home-made video recording posted on youtube to propel a creative budding young artist to international stardom. Take Marie Digby as a case in point. Overnight stardom came to her as the avalanche of viewers began to watch her youtube performances, some of which were recorded in her bathroom which had the best acoustics in the house.

Guess who??

Posted on 20/12/201022/01/2013

My talented friend AmyHeidi’s thoughts on language, culture, and tradition struck a chord with me. Being a product of mixed parentage, I could relate to her comments on how she never learnt the dusun dialect from her grandmother. Its so sad isnt it when a tradition or language just fades…
