I received a lovely email from a young (I assume heheh) Bruneian studying abroad giving her comments and suggestions on the Visit Brunei 2008 Blogger Project. Thought I’d share it:

Assalammualaikum,

Hey cool! ^_^ Thanks. no problem. I’ll spread it around to everyone i know in Manchester and beyond. Good luck! we’re having another visit brunei? wow. i’m.. amazed. what else do we have to offer that we didn’t have in 2001?

… snip …

Talk to the tourism board and get your shutter friends to collaborate with them if you’re serious about visit brunei.

Best way for this ‘visit brunei’ to work is to create a hype. Online and offline. Oh! make souvenirs too!. ^_^ That’d be cool. Brunei souvenirs are replicated from the ones in Malaysia so that’s kinda boring for tourists.

… snip …

Good luck. ^_^

– Aeny

I said it, he said it, even she agreed. I’m gonna go again to the book fair sometime this week to browse properly what’s on offer. But this time I’ll be armed with a towel!

Yes, would be happy to contribute. BTW, I was reading Muhibbah Jan/Feb 2007 this morning. Saw a few nice photos from Tourism Board but all of them done by non-Bruneian shutterbugs. I feel disappointed coz I know they are a few talented Bruneian photographers around. Why not use Bruneian photographers to promote Brunei? I hope VB2008 blog will have a real impact on what Bruneians can do to promote tourism.
