Thanks to CL’s mouthwatering post, I headed over to Maurizio’s spiffy new pad for lunch yesterday. It was great to catch up with Maurizio who was in KK for the last couple of years, running his Bella Italia eatery. I get the feeling Villa Mauri is gonna be a hit among the local foodie population, especially with the good-value lunch and dinner set menus, which makes a good Italian meal quite affordable.

Public speaking is something that many people have a distinct fear of. The anxiety people feel when faced with the task of speaking in front of a group of strangers can be debilitating. I was very fortunate in this sense because I was exposed to public speaking from very early on in life. In school, I was often picked to represent the school in various oratory or debating competitions. This early start has helped immensely in overcoming any fear I have of speaking in public.

My deepest condolences go to the families of the victims of yesterday’s
unfortunate incident in town. AL-FATIHAH.

These days, most of my sunset shoots involve couples very much in love, about to be or newly married, and I needed a break from that so yesterday, on a spur of the moment, da fam and I headed to the Jerudong fish markets to catch the happenings there. It was a nice little outing and at the same time, we got some fresh fish as well!

I lived most of my early life next to the sea… sometimes I miss the smell of the ocean

Sunsets by the sea always bring out a sea of emotions…

The fam and I hadn’t been to Saffron in aaages so two nights ago, we trooped over to try out the all-you-can-eat promo. At first it was a bit confusing, but after some explanation, we finally got it. You get to order unlimited refills of whatever dish you order individually, but if you order dishes to share, you get to refill once only.
We decided to go with the latter strategy, i.e. ordering dishes to share. We ended up ordering quite a fair bit, and by the time we were done with the first round, we were too full for seconds heheh! So I reckon the trick is to order just a few dishes so that you have room for the refills after that. We’ve yet to try this strategy… perhaps during the coming weekend

Pics taken during a family dinner at the new Nasi Kandar joint in Beribi, Kayu Nasi Kandar. Kayu is a popular franchise in Malaysia and I’ve visitied some of their outlets in KL and PJ. The secret is in the “kuah campur” which makes the nasi so appetizing. Then of course there’s the lauk which is cooked penang-mamak style to complement the nasi. In a nutshell, its YUMZ. But cannot indulge too often lah… heheh

Mouth-watering innit? It tastes as good as it looks!
