BEDB Stakeholder Dialogue

Posted on 17/01/200817/01/2008 By Reedz

Pics taken at yesterday’s BEDB stakeholder dialogue held at Sheraton Utama Hotel. Very intense discussions on the specific industry clusters which BEDB reckons Brunei should be going into in the medium to long term. The highest placed clusters were, unsurprisingly, oil and gas related activities. Dato Paduka Haji Eussof Agaki, in his opening remarks said that although prospects for some of the clusters looked dim, things could be fixed easily to brighten the prospects. This involved all stakeholders, government, private sector, and citizens, pulling in the same direction. The key word for the morning was “ALIGNMENT”.

This chap came up and said hi. Turns out he was “Daud”, a regular commenter on this site. David is field rep for Ethnotreks, a travel firm specializing in tours “off the beaten path”. He was lounging at the Sheraton lobby about to leave to Temburong when he spotted me and said hi. Hi David! Let’s go minum when you’re next in town!

Small reminders as we go through life…

RIGHT SPEECH There is a Chinese saying which carries the meaning that “A speech will either prosper or ruin a nation.” Many relationships break off because of wrong speech. When a couple is too close with each other, we always forget mutual respect and courtesy. We may say anything without…

Adam Smith: apart from what can be googled, I’m afraid I don’t have much else. Hopefully within the next week or so, more write-ups will be made available online for us to peruse 😉 At the same time, I will check with my sources at the BEDB jua.

Thank you for your comment regulareader, yes this was the 1st BEDB Dialogue and at that time, Puan Haslina had just been appointed the CFO of BAG Networks 🙂 You are absolutely right that she is currently the CEO of BAG Networks.
